Mister N is a Letter Boy. He gets his sound from his Noisy Nose.

Mr. N has a nose that always makes a lot of noises and different sounds. No matter how much he tries to silence it, it can't be silenced.
Mr N's nose is a long trunk with two rainbow stripes. He has green-and-blue-striped hair, purple cheeks, and (in the character portrait) green eyes. He dons a blue hat, wears green clothes and necktie, pink belt, and yellow shoes with orange tips and pink shoelaces. This appearance for him was very much the same when he was redesigned in 1973, but with pink tips of his shoes, having pink hair and wearing a green hat.
