Looking for the original Mister X?

Mr. X, as the informal part of his name is abbreviated, is a redesigned version of the original Mister X. He is a male Letter Person, and his sound [ks] is different from all the other Letter People because it never starts a word in the same way as other consonants only a [z] sound. For this reason, his characteristic is that he is Different; unique and navigates the world in his own way.

Appearance[]

Mr. X has blue skin and yellow/blonde hair in a shaggy style. He walks on his hands and looks at the world from a different point of view as a result. He has a green shirt with his red letter "X" on the front and back. He wears dark blue pants, as well as red sneakers with yellow accents.

Personality[]

He lives in a unique way compared to the other Letter People, walking, seeing, hearing, and feeling differently than most because he uses his hands to walk and does many things upside-down. This has led to people bullying him or staring and glaring in his past, before he moved to the Land of the Letter People. When he first came to meet the other Letter People, he felt bad about himself and pushed people away because he feared that his differences would cause the Letter People to make fun of him, even though they all wanted to be his friend. Once he got to know them, though, Mr. X realized that all the Letter People really liked him, so much so that they all held a surprise party at his house and even stood on their hands in solidarity with him. From then on, he began being unapologetically himself and encouraging others to do the same.

Trivia[]

Mr. X's redesign gave him an overhaul of his characteristics too, because the creators likely wanted to provide a much more positive spin on the fact that "X" is not like any other letter. Mr. X's character song and traits communicate to children that however different you are from most other people, it's alright and you are who you are; we can still get along. The way that Mr. X walks on his hands and does things differently can be interpreted as an allegory for disability, to show a positive representation that kids can easily understand. Anecdotes from various people have shown that the new Mr. X song helped them to have a positive self-image in the face of being bullied or othered for their disability. Any other difference in social group could also be applied to Mr. X's ideas.
